Saturday we took Lucy on her first trip to Chicago, with a stop at the Michigan city outlets, a visit to Great Grandma and Grandpa Hoeksema and the final destination, Alex's 5th b-day party. It was a fun-filled busy day, and I have to say that both of my girls were on their best behavior. I was so proud of both of them but especially Izzy. She hugged and cuddled with her grandparents, whom she does not see very often and was polite and sweet. It made my heart so warm and happy! She also played nicely with Alex and Ben and had a great time at the science birthday party! I love hanging out with family, it is so special! Unfortunately Marcus couldn't join us because he was home sick with the flu! So I took his place in the pictures.

Sitting with Great Grandma and Grandpa Hoeksema, Grandma is Lucy's middle name namesake.

Snuggles with Great Grandma, what an awesome grandma she is. She had a stuffed animal out waiting for Izzy, a book about a penguin and some cookies that spelled out Izzy's name!

Hanging out on Grandpa's shoulders.

the scientists!

My brother explaining to a bunch of five year-old's how many atoms were in the drop of water in their hand.

Atom musical chairs! Our little peanut was an electron!
