the little things i miss...

Going back to work full time this year has been great, I love my job, the people I work with and I feel like I can really get into my work and do it well now that I am there full time.  I get paid well enough that we were able to buy what will one day be our dream home.  Marcus has been awesome about getting the girls to and from school, packing lunches and all that other stuff that I don't have time for anymore.  But there are lots of things that I miss.  I miss going to the grocery store on Monday morning while everybody else is at work and you can have the store to yourself and nibble little bites off of the free cookie of your cute daughter in the cart.  I miss sitting down for the first time at nap time, and being able to look through pictures and blog about the fun things that we are doing to enrich and bring joy to our children's lives.  I miss having time to cook, and enjoy cooking instead of dreading the next meal, because it takes too much time to prepare.  But most of all I miss my little ladies.  The little time that I do have with them after work always seems so stressful and rushed, and I have run out of patience during the school day.  I miss laying in bed for hours on a week day morning reading and snuggling and not having to get out of our pajamas.  I never realized how special and fleeting those moments really were.

Now my weekends are packed with running errands, visiting with friends and family and planned weeks in advance.  So last Tuesday I planned a trip to the Gardens with my little ladies and my mom so that I could take back some of that time and enjoy them and enjoy the little things...  I can't wait for summer, I am going to try really hard to make things slow down just a little bit so that I don't miss out on too many other moments.

We have been practicing her sad face.  She wasn't really sad, but she does this and then starts cracking up.  She is quite the little silly girl!
