First Day of School

The summer has come to an end and we find ourselves with a first and fourth grader on our hands.  I am not quite sure how that happened...   Both girls will be in the Elementary building this year with Lucy in the Hawthorne classroom, and Izzy in the White Cedar classroom.  Izzy will be enjoying some quality time with Marcus as one of the teachers in her room.  They were both excited to start and enjoyed their first couple days of transition.

Lucy loved doing morning math, and bringing home her R.E.D. (Read Every Day) folder and is looking forward to taking quizzes on the Accelerated Reader program on the computer.

Izzy came home and told me that she had a great time playing a game with fractions that her teacher later told her was actually a lesson.  She was pretty excited about that.

They both will start each morning with an urban hike led by their dad around the neighborhood.  It is going to be a great year for both of them.
