Our first born has now been alive for one decade. I am not sure that I can wrap my mind around that one... What a decade it has been! Izzy continues to impress us with her Lego building skills and her symmetrical building abilities. She is a voracious readers, often finishing a novel a week. Her favorite genre is fantasy, but she will read most anything. You can often hear her giggling and laughing as she cozily reads books in her loft bed. She has many friends and lots of different interests with each of those friends. She prides herself in being a hard worker at school each day. She finds comfort in routine, she has had the same thing for lunch every single day of fourth grade; 6 crackers, 1 piece of cheese, tomatoes, a yogurt and an apple. She also wears the same tattered, holey hoodie every day, despite or in spite of all of the comments that she gets about it. She loves her alone time. She relishes being able to stay in her pajamas all day in her room listening to audio books and building and rebuilding Lego sets. Izzy does not like to try new things, whether it be food, or activities. She is quite a crafty little lady and enjoys sewing and creating with her Nema. Most of all she is a pretty sweet kid. She treats others with respect and is kind and considerate of others feelings. She still continues to be a vegetarian because she doesn't like the thought of animals being killed for meat. She has empathy like no other person I have ever met.
We wish her the happiest birthday of all, and we can't wait to see what the next year will have in store for her. The world is lucky to have had her for the past ten years. Cheers to many more Isabella!
