7...can it really be?

My BABY girl is turning seven in a few short hours.  I remember this day well, as I labored all day long, and wished and hoped that my mom and dad and Izzy would make it back from Chicago in time for the birth.  They did!  Lucy came strong and fast.  Like Izzy, I thought for sure she was a boy, but when we found out otherwise, I knew Lucy Mae was the perfect name for her.

Lucy is an extrovert.  She loves to be around people and often tries to figure out who can come over and join us for dinner at a moments notice.  She is very interested in makeup, fashion, and being "fancy". She loves to laugh and play with others. She is becoming quite the helper in the kitchen, and loves to help me bake and cook for the family. She likes to be kept busy, but when we force her to spend some time on her own you can find her in the front room listening to music and belting out the lyrics on her microphone.  She still enjoys playing with baby dolls as long as she has someone to play with her and she is quite obsessed with the whole process of birthing babies. Who knows maybe one day she will be a doctor or a midwife.  Lucy has a memory like none other.  She can remember people, experiences and feelings from farther back than I would have imagined.  She goes by many names; Goosey, Shmoosen, Goosenheimer, Lucy Goosey, and Lucy Mae Willikers, to name a few.

Every day she makes us smile or laugh and every day she tests our patience, but I do have to say she does it out of love.  She can be the sweetest, most sentimental, sweetheart around.  Each night after Marcus sings Boomdiadda to her she ends her day by saying, " I love you more than I can say!"

We love you more than we can say Lucy.  Cheers to a wonderful trip around the sun.  May your days be full of people, your voice be strong and your baking be sweet!  Love you Goosey!
