My first baby is turning 11 tomorrow. She just finished up a week long camp in Northern Michigan and came home to tell me that "she wasn't as homesick as last year." She is indeed growing up. She has surrounded herself with 4 strong, lovely friends at school. She is an avid reader of fantasy featuring, dragons, hobbits and other mythical creatures. She eats the same thing for lunch every day; 2 pieces of cheese, 12 crackers, cherry tomatoes, greek yogurt and a fruit. (It used to be an apple, but now since her mouth is filled with metal, it is usually something softer.) She still builds with Legos, mostly while listening to audio books. She loves the Hamilton sound track and has become our resident expert on the story, even though she has never actually seen the musical. She loves to play cards, skip-bo, double solitaire, sevens, whatever is available. She is still a kind, empathetic soul, who never wants to disappoint anyone or anything. She loves creating plays with her cousins, where she becomes the narrator or the director, but not the star. She works hard at school, excelling in Math concepts and working on her writing skills, even taking a hand at writing some plays. She brings a lot to the table and encourages those around her to be thoughtful and caring. We are so happy to watch her grow into a wonderful young lady. Happy trip around the sun Isabella! We love you more than you will ever know!
