I am feeling unexpectedly emotional on this eve of my baby turning 2. I am sad that she is not a baby anymore, but I am excited to watch the little girl that she becomes. There have been so many firsts for her in these last couple weeks, and it is very interesting to watch and observe how she handles all of those things. Her first gymnastics class, her first haircut and her first school experience; all of these things have been handled with some trepidation, tears, smiles and excitement. She definitely has Izzy's shy nature when it comes to new things, but as soon as they become familiar, the shyness wears off and the crazy little girl shines through. Lucy is a vibrant little girl that loves animals of any kind, especially horses and dogs. She loves to sing and dance and her favorite song at the moment is "American Pie" which she requests by yelling out "PIE mommy, PIE" as loud as possible in the backseat of the car. She loves her sister and is desperately trying to tag along with her and all her neighborhood friends! She loves to snuggle, especially with her "taggie" (blanket) and "boppy" (pacifier). She is sometimes a reluctant listener hanging her head and saying, "o-yight, o-yight" (alright, alright) and walking towards you to do what you have asked. She is an extremely physical little girl and yearns for the wrestling and thrashings from her daddy and Papa. We love this little one with all of our hearts and even though we are sad for the baby in her that we are losing, we can't wait to see what she becomes! Happy Birthday my sweet little Goose!

Happy birthday Lucy! Great writing, Liz. 2 is such a line between and baby and little girl! She's doing great! I'm sure you've shown her already but does she like the Grand Rapids lip dub of American Pie? It's a favorite in our house too. XXOO
