Adventure at the Lake

We have been experiencing some of the coldest temperatures on record and sustained for many days here in Michigan.  Because of this we are able to experience some pretty spectacular occurrences.  The Great Lakes are almost 94% frozen right now.  I checked the weather and saw that it was supposed to be in the 20's (balmy for us) and we decided to venture out to the beach.  What we found there was, as only I can imagine it, like stepping onto the moon.  It was white for as far as you could see with big frozen waves, and choppy ice blocks.  It was absolutely beautiful.  As we walked out onto the frozen water the sun came out and blue skies prevailed, and we had ourselves a beautiful winter adventure.

Nema and Papa joined us for the adventure.

Marcus and Izzy throwing snowballs at us from their ice hideout.

Lucy throwing one of her many temper tantrums...

And she is happy now because I am with her....

Frozen sisters!

Emily, Rick and Connor also met us out at the lake.  Connor was such a trooper he even lost his boot in the snowy piles of ice and kept on walking!
